I got a late start today — because of tons of pretty cool news. Affinity is getting closer to opening (you can buy some cookies to help here), we have a location in mind, and it’s starting to get exciting.
On an unrelated note — I have an Oura ring on the way. Look it up. It’s awesome.
Medium: Graphite and Cretacolor, Cretacolor on Newsprint
What went well?
I’m deciding to call this piece finished. I spent some time today doing my lightest of light tones, then erasing out my highlights. When I stepped away from it and looked back, I realized that I spent WAY too much time on the drapery for this piece. The focus is the figure and the head, specifically. I actually went in and erased the bottom of the drapery to give it an intentionally unfinished feel.
What didn’t go so well and what can I learn from that?
I’m in a decent bit of physical pain today, but I’m getting checked out next week. It’s really interfering with the energy I’m able to put into my art. I don’t like it.
I also didn’t work on art first thing today. By the time I got to the drawing board, my energy was pretty low.
